Bilge pump modification

Rouser came with one electric bilge pump, a Rule 4000 GPH.
With only the two of us for crew, we wanted to add a second
electric pump. If the first pump failed or clogged, we didn't
want to be left pumping.

We added a Rule 3700 GPH pump on its own float switch, circuit
breaker, and thru-hull. It is a totally independent system.

We also wired a bilge alarm into the system. When the float
switch turns on the pump, it also sounds the alarm. We
mounted the alarm under the nav table.

Here is a close-up of the
bilge pump alarm. Angela had the great idea of putting an on/off
switch in line. If the alarm and pump turn on, we can shut off the
alarm (but keep the pump on) and deal with the situation in relative peace.

We used smooth-walled tubing to route the water to the new bronze
thru-hull. The new thru-hull is mounted on the port side of
the boat, exactly opposite of the original bilge pump thru-hull.

Here is a simple wire diagram of our new bilge pump installation.
